Canned 9/27/19...fuck
Back to the discount rack. $2 for a single of this one, I had never heard of this one before, and the single review already here scares me a bit, let's see what this is about
Pours a dark fudgy brown with 2 fingers of light brown head that quickly fades to a cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose is pretty standard porter fare, notes of light roast, coffee, a touch of smoke, but with just a dash of jammy blackberry
Up front is where the berries shine here, adding a nice subtle tartness to match the roasty coffee, but on the swallow they become overpowering and combine with the roast in a rather unpleasant way, feeling astringent. There's some chalky dark chocolate that pulls it back a bit but this is pretty out there. The aftertaste actually brings a nice, full raspberry note
Medium bodied with gentle carbonation, this actually drinks pretty smooth despite the less than stellar taste. Still, it finishes a little too sticky
Yeah, this one was kinda whack. Not objectionable or offensive, but I can seem why some may find it to be like that. The idea is out there, but it was worth a shot

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
