Crowler dated 1-12 and recommended by Big Fatty's on consuming within 72 hours, okay, here goes.
Only after I poured into a becher I noticed the high ABV on this.
I ended up leaving this in the becher and proceeded but thinking in the back of my mind, this may be an "imperial/double" IPA.
The appearance was a glossy burnt dark yellow close to amber/orange color with a moderate transparency about it. A finger's worth of white foamy head sat atop and dissipated nicely. Nice looking lace arranged near the top to speckle finely.
The aroma seemed to blend a sweet floral hoppiness to seemingly coming across more like lavender as it warmed. Slight clean sweet biscuit malt compensated nicely in the balance.
The flavor definitely had the floral sweetness up front rolling into the biscuit malt pretty nice and sweet. Clean floral hop aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied with a fine sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine, mostly on par for the regular American styled IPA. ABV felt on par. Very nice smooth clean floral finish.
Overall, not necessarily a true "Vermont styled" IPA but more or less an American IPA that comes across well done. I'd definitely have again.
