I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at the brewery.
Appearance: nice rich black hue with a layer of frothy dark tan foam; it certainly looks the part.
Smell: lightly sweet with a moderate roast and a dose of astringency. Not complex, but not bad.
Taste: roasty and mildly sweet with a big yeasty, lagery character. Like the aroma, there's not a ton of complexity going on here, but it's perfectly serviceable.
Mouthfeel: medium body but a very good carbonation and a smooth creaminess.
Overall: this is not a bad example of the style, but I like my Baltics with a little more complex fruity character.
