A well attenuated, Belgian, dark strong ale, brewed with floor malted, bohemian Pilsner malt, dark Candi syrup, and a touch of chocolate wheat. Impressions of date, treacle, plum, and spice.

Having this on tap at the brewery in downtown San Francisco. This beer draws a clear, dark amber color with a tan head that settles eventually to a thick ring the inside of the glass, along with some small cluster swirls of surface foam and some pretty nice lacing. Aroma of some toasted, bready caramel malts along with notes of date and plum, Belgian Candi sugars, and a slight hint of chocolate. A very similar flavor profile, with the aforementioned toasted, bready caramel malts followed by some date and plum, Belgian Candi sugars, and a slight hint of chocolate. Has a somewhat crisp, also smooth, slightly chewy and slightly syrupy medium full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a pretty clean fitness, and all of the flavors are nicely on my pallet in the aftertaste following each sip. A good beer all around. Glad I got a chance to try this one.
