As temperatures rise teasing that summer is near and another winter is behind us, spring is the perfect time of year to celebrate new growth. To commemorate the season we have meticulously crafted our first Maibock (literally May Bock). A careful blend of imported German malts, a rush of German aromatic hops from St. Cloud’s sister city, and a long cold aging process result in a beautifully balanced brew. Prost!

12 oz can with a Bottoms Up date of 05/16/19. Seems odd since it just appeared on my local store shelves. Overall a nice bock that is getting up there in ABV. I would probably chose Summit's Maibock over this as there is just something a little better in their example. This is just nice, nothing that sets it apart.

12oz can. Stamped on can bottom is best by date of '05/16/19'.
Clear deep gold colored body. Minimal white head almost immediately disappears, leaving a thin ring and a few island skiffs. Leaves behind a few small spots of lacing.
Aroma is faint but does express some toasty malts and a hint of floral hops.
Taste has lots of bready, caramel, toasted malts, which are a little sweet. At the back end there is a swirl of spicy and earthy hops that balance out with some bitterness. Both malts and hops trail off together in the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel. Good carbonation.
A very easy to drink bock beer, that balances the malts and the hops.

L-Deep golden color...looks elegant in the class...nice clarity..perfect head
S-Malty upfront..pils malt evident...
T-Very nice clean malt bill....pils malt is again up front...honey bread and grainy notes...light spicy hops on the finish.
F-Perfect body (medium) and carbonation (ow side of medium)....clean...
O-One of the best maibocks made in the state if not the best. I'd take it over Schells and Summit's versions. What I like best about this one is the way the malt really sets the tone and shines while the hops add just a hint of spiciness on the finish. I find some to be too hop forward. Summit and Schells both lean that way in my opinion. This one does not. It's a nice clean, crisp, bready/grainy malt forward maibock that is spot on for the style. The only other Maibock in the state I would put at this level is Town Halls and I would love to do a blind taster of these two.

This beer pours a very clear golden color. The head was thick, but dissipated quickly. The nose is subtle, but there, and hard to describe. The taste is delicious. It has some bitterness on the back end. Up front it has what seems like floral notes to me. This is one of their best offerings, and I'd gladly get it again.
