Yeah, you're a Coaster, alright, with living tradition in your hand. A Gulf Kölsch with a beating heart and a story for the ages. In Cologne, Germany, it is an honor to be a Köbesse. Wearing blue knit waste coats and aprons, these guys are apprentices of life. Serving tiny 7 oz beers. All. Day. Long. A day's work is a day's wisdom. Only way to track sold Kölsch? By drawing tick marks on every patron's coaster. As many marks is as many beers. Yeah, you're a Gulf Coaster, alright, on a pilgrimage to drink down the true definition: hop-accented, top-fermented, pale and historic - Coaster Kölsch.

From the 12 oz can in a snifter via our friend Laura! Cheers! This nice little kolsch
pours a chill hazed golden with a very nice head of white foam that settles to a thick
ring, thick clumping layer, and sports some excellent lacing. Nose of breaded malts,
sweet cereal grains, honey, and spicy hop notes. Flavors surpass the nose with honey
sweet malt touched with light cereal and breaded malt goodness with a touch of herbal
hops and lemon zest. Mouth feel is light, smooth, crisp, medium light carbonation, and
a herbal and spicy hop touched finish that is moderately clean.

Overall, a solid little brew

Cheers

12 ounce can, no dating on it that I noticed. Thanks to my friend Laura for picking up this for me on a recent trip! Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a somewhat clear gold color with about an inch and a half off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like bready malt and some spicy hops. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of some pear and grassy hop flavors. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's smooth and easy enough to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. This isn't a bad brew at all, worth a try if you get the chance!
