Poured into a small pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy orange-gold amber with a thin white head that dissipates to patches and finally disappears. Aroma of grainy malt, a little buttery diacetyl and light grassy hops. Flavor is husky, grainy malt, hints of toffee and grassy hops, finishes with lingering grassy hop flavor. Light bodied with sharp carbonation. Although this has a pale ale profile, the malt and hops are reminiscent of a light lager. Light flavor and a bland start are redeemed by the sharp edges of the grainy malt; the dry grassy hops are somewhat pedestrian. A simple light pale ale. Brewed with both malt and rice, but without the mild sweetness rice sometimes imparts.
