I'm certainly seeing more brewing putting out an India Pale Lager, which is odd considering there's no historical reference between the two. So it's a marketing term, fine. How different is it from the brewery's pilsner? I'll find out. On-tap at the source, on to the beer:
Yellow orange colored, so darker in color than the pilsner. Body has a little haze, and that head on top does drop quickly. The aroma smells fresh and vibrant, almost like its ale counterpart. Fresh pine teases the nose. There's also mango, tangerine, tropical fruits, and a sweet/sour juice.
This lager has one of the fruiter tastes of its family. very tropical flavored with a line of crisp pine and tangerine juice, the latter being sweet and sour (thanks Beastie Boys!). It's a fun tasting beer. It's medium bodied, so a bit more beefed than Cismontane's pilsner, with some bitterness sticking at the end.
For something a little different and hoppy, Salvator's IPL provides that match.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
