Poured from 500mL bottle into a tulip.
Appearance: murky yellow-gold hue with a thin layer of ivory foam atop. Pretty decent looking.
Smell: very strongly vinous, with a massive fruitiness and definite wine character. This really overshadows any saison character present; I like it, in a way, but it is just a bit too strong for good balance.
Taste: the strong acidic wine character from the aroma is much subtler in the flavor. There isn't a whole lot of saison character here, either; mostly, it reminds me of a very malty tripel. Lacks finesse, but isn't a bad beer.
Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a low level of carbonation and a mild fizziness. It's OK.
Overall: not a terrible beer, but not one I'll be going after again.

Pours very very hazy deep orange yellow with minimal head or retention. Looks like juice in the glass. Forgiveable since this is a sour.
Do I smell something amazing or should I feel fear? The amount of oaky tannins coming off this beer quakes the very soul. Definite white wine character with that lemony and shrill white grape juice note. Very prevalent alcohol and phenolic off notes of rubber cement, sharpie, bandaid and homebrew yeast.
Oak tannins everywhere! If there was a possible upper limit to barrel aging they well surpassed that threshold. Congrats. Finishing with some white grape juice, earthy bitterness and spice rack. Slightly acidic but it's more residual wine than anything else.
Drinkable? I guess besides the prevalent alcohol the body and carbonation are pretty well mannered. I wish it were less oaky.
They pushed the limits with this beer and went over a cliff. The barrel presence is disgusting and well overdone. You can't even tell the base beer is a saison much less a homebrew. Wine barrel in liquid form, without all the splinters.

Starts with a big slightly overripe fruit nose with white wine, oak and vanilla notes and hints of barnyard funk. It pours hazy copper tinted amber with a thin white cap. The palate is an interplay of fruit and biscuit with flavors shifting from pineapple to chardonnay to pear to ripe fruit and back over a tart vanilla oak background with a chardonnay wine character blooming in the aftertaste. Very layered and complex. Medium body and carbonation. The texture suggests a wine with beer carbonation.
