Poured from 500mL bottle into a tulip. According to the label, this is aged in chardonnay barrels.
Appearance: medium gold hue with a light haze and a thin finger of frothy white foam. Head doesn't stick around too long; it's relatively attractive.
Smell: lightly tart up front with a definite oaky character. The wine element is much more subdued than in other beers I've had from chardonnay barrels; I like the subtlety.
Taste: oaky up front with, again, a very light tartness and a little bit of a sweet vinous character. I think the complexity is just right and that the elements play well together.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a good carbonation and a decent creaminess. Not bad at all.
Overall: this beer has a nice zippy feel from the very light tartness and the oaky astringency. I like it.
