My first go with this new OC brewery. On-tap at the source itself, on to the beer:
Copper colored beer with no head on top. Tiny dots of white lacing stuck to the glass though. A good amount of hops greet the nose with a tiny caramel backbone. The taste is pleasant too. Malty and hoppy, just the way I like my pale ales. It reminds me of a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, but with one problem; the keg I drank from had not properly carbonated....almost completely flat. Drinkable and enjoyable regardless though.
Having the Co2 level correct would likely bring this beer to the next level. Even the brewer recognized the problem, so the pint was on him. Appearently, the keg had been filled just earlier in the day, and needed more time with the Co2 tank when it was being served on tap. Here's hoping my next run in will provide the intended experience.
