A: Slight chocolate, faint vanilla, that gives way to moderate cinnamon, and super strong nutmeg. The nutmeg overpowers everything else and lingers on the finish.
A: Black with an amber hue, super hazy, almost opaque with a very fine ring of head on the edge of the glass.
T: Moderate chocolate and chocolate/coffee malt that’s slightly sweet. Followed by light vanilla and cinnamon spices, there is a moderate amount of nutmeg present, but recedes quickly from the light ancho peppers. There is a light pepper heat on the finish that lingers.
M: Medium-light bodied with moderately light carbonation. The beer feels a little thin, even though it’s moderately (alcoholically) strong.
O: Alright; the spices in the aroma are a bit strong. There needs to be deeper, more nuanced chocolate aroma and flavor. The beer also needs a bit more body.

I had this on tap at the Brewery.
Real dark in appearance. When held up to the light, ruby highlights shimmer through.
Smells quite good. The abundance of cinnamon jumps right out of the glass. Quite a bit of other holiday smells in there as well.
The cinnamon muscles its way to your taste buds first, followed by slight hints of allspice or nutmeg. Its got an interesting taste to it; I like it.
I think this beer would be very good on a nice cold day around a fire. It definitely reminds me of Christmas. My only qualm is the overpowering cinnamon presence. Personally, just a tad much. Other then that, a great beer that I will have again.

On Tap
Churchill's Pub & Grille
San Marcos,
Nearly black in color with a thin, brown head that eventually leaves the glass coated with sticky cling.
An interesting spiced stout aroma, with some cinnamon and chile? pushing its way through to the forefront. There's also a pleasant combination of roast and a bit of coffee. Very nice.
An above average though somewhat simple flavor, with the cinnamon only adding a dull tingling presence and not adding much flavor. Roasted malt and coffee round out the beer.
Medium mouthfeel with moderate carbonation.
Not one of my favorites, but an interesting glass of beer.
