Appearance : great golden color with a little bubble charm
Smell: definitely on the lighter side so you really were not sure what to expect when you took a sip. You get a hint of hop but not overwhelming at all.
Taste: Smooth taste with a hint of oak and wine. Pairs well with salad just as much as a burger.

Pours a cloudy yellow color with a white head. Nose is somewhat tropical. A nice pineapple note, which for some reason, goes well with the Chardonnay character. A bit of oak, straw, and malt sweetness, too. The flavor is sweet, but has almost a light tartness. Very nice wine flavor, a bit of tropical fruit, honey, and yeast. Wasn’t expecting much of anything from a wine barrel steam beer, but this was nice.

Purchased at Amazing Graps wine store a couple stores down from the Cismontane Brewery. 750ml champagne style bottle. Says its barrel aged 5-8 months in Chardonnay barrels.
Pours a hazy honey color. Nice head formed that was white. It dissipated to a thin layer with some nice lacing as you drink.
Aroma isn't much. But you can smell a bit of that wine Chardonnay aroma and a bit of oakyness. Bit of malty breadyness.
Taste is pretty good. It's close to a sort of Belgian blond but not as belgany. Bit of hop flavor and bitterness in the finish. Bit of that wine character and oakyness.
Mouthfeel is smooth from the California common yeast but with a refreshing quality and a nice carbonation.
Overall a tasty beer. Not your usual idea of what a barrel aged beer is but it is very good and unique. Grab one if you can. It's my understanding it's only avaliable at the brewery or at amazing grapes.
