Taste like a barley wine. On tap in keg that was reported to be 2 years old.

This stuff smells like rocket fuel and peppermint. Alcohol fumes are the main first impression. Is it possible this was not meant to be used internally? Color is a hazy burnt-orange amber with a fine-grained off-white head in the Zunft Kölsch glass.
"Holy crap!" is the appropriate comment on the first sip. It's hot and sweet, as well as spicy. The rye does emerge as a grainy undertone. What is this insistent flavor of wintergreen or apple brandy? Candy aftertaste with something I have not thought of for years-- exhaling a menthol cigarette. Enormous fruit flavor, but more like malt syrup with boiled fruit cake.
From the capped 500 ml bottle purchased at Texas Liquors in Carlsbad. I don't think the year in the bottle has helped this any.

From tasting notes. Appearance: hazy dark amber, 1” off white foam cap, lacy. Smell: Grainy, spicy nose. Taste: the flavor starts with malt and then rich hops roll in with rye spice. The rye spice flavors really make this beer. Slight vanilla and caramel. Mouthfeel: Satiating - has the rye fullness of body, slight slickness and zaftig in a very pleasant way. The carbonation is medium. Drink it for the wonderful expression of rye.

Good but overly strong in my opinion.

On-tap at the source itself in a small goblet. On to the beer:
This beer is toasted orange in color with a tiny hue of yellow. Although the head forms small, its retention is more than decent. The aroma is unique, offering a clean and crisp pine note, and smaller aromas of pineapple and passionfruit. Call it the three P's.
This is very, very sweet beer. While reasonably hoppy, this ale takes on flavors like caramel shots with clean pine, woodsy, vanilla, and oak notes. A little boozy, though at 11.5% ABV it's forgivable. It's a full bodied beer and feeling syrupy.
Fun beer from Cismontane, and quite good as it stands.
