this beer is awesome! easily the best of the beers i had here, and something totally different. it pours rich and thick like a big oatmeal stout, dense mocha head and super dark, impenetrable to light, really great luster as well, just looks gorgeous. it smells and tastes unique too, fantastic and distinct. chocolate malt that was missing in the brown ale was there, but there is more, a huge heaping dose of specialty dark malt, bitter and roasty, intense, sharp almost, almost overdosed, its huge. amazing to me the feel and flavor in this thing, all from the grain, but that the abv is so low is just crazy, it seems almost like an imperial porter, dry though, and not without some yeastiness, like a baltic porter, a true one, and its outstanding. some hop bitterness way back too, and this enormous creamy feel, hearty and satisfying. perfect winter beer, entirely original, and i think the best beer headstrong makes by a mile, at least in my experience. definitely the one to have if you only have time for one. this should get some attention.

Bought a Growler at the brewery.
Pours a very dark brown with a small short lived head of foam, a little lacing.
I smell some roasted malt, some caramel, a bit of a hop bite.
The taste is semi sweet with some light roasted notes. Light bodied but doesn't get watery in the finish.
A nice lower abv(4.3%) Porter.
