my first from these guys, a real cool beer, usually fruited ipa turns me off, but this is smart because its ipa first, fruit beer second, the peach is real natural and not sugary at all, and the hops and the fruit work together, pulling in the same direction. this ends up being flavorful, summery, and highly drinkable. its also a hazy as a base but not a sloppy one, not too much starch or body to make it heavy, not even all that cloudy looking really, and it has a great head from the tap, nice lace and retention. the nose here is awesome, mosaic hops likely, a pineapple thing there accentuating the peach, majorly compatible, juicy, and bright and fresh. i get some other tropical character too, mango, melon, and orange, really appealing. the flavor works too, i am surprised how light the grain is both in terms of flavor and body, but it doesnt feel thin either. the peach flavor is in the middle, hits a little earlier than the hops, but it stays around so its still there when the hops hit so i can taste them both together. this does have a little pop of finishing bitterness and it offsets any fruity sweetness, dry for what it is on the swallow, nice carbonation. overall i think a really smart and well executed beer, i like that the peach is fermented down to near dry and that the hops lead the way in terms of flavor. an impressive first beer for me from these guys!
