had a buddy bring this one back from sri lanka, apparently brewed by the lion crew for a cricket event that went poorly. he told me it was a lager beer, nothing special, but when we cracked it, all we smelled and tasted was ginger beer. the aroma and flavor of fresh ginger, very sweet, with maybe a hint of green apple, is what we got from this. some sweet weird almost adjunct base, and the body is as thick as the glass bottle it came out of (seriously, weighs a ton, very sturdy package). needs more bubbles and less sweetness. also, he didnt think it was supposed to be a ginger beer, so maybe something about the heat or the cold or the travel or whatever, but this has either spoiled in a pretty flattering manner, or was never a very good pils type to begin with. i didnt hate it, but it felt more like a cultural immersion than a refreshing and enjoyable beverage. good for something different, and a few laughs.
