I enjoyed a crowler of this beer, obtained in a CANBIF trade. This is on point for the style - dark, with a thin tawny head that hangs around. The nose is grainy, almost acrid. Taste wise, it's a mishmash of roasted malt, bitter hops, and McCafe coffee. The mouthfeel is creamy, but a bit thin. Overall, a representative Black IPA.

On tap at the Tide and boar: Opaque black color. Slightly creamy bubbly brown 2 finger head, lasting around 5 minutes, decent legs and lacing with okay swirl effect. Flavors of dark grains, coffee, light chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, soft oysters, and herbal hops. Slick, almost creamy, medium body with a light crisp. Strong strength finish, quite spicy, moderately earthy, some walnuts and toffee end. Heavily think on the tongue, a really bold dark ale with poor freshness. Overall decent quality craft.
