Sampling a 473 ml can poured into my snifter. Picked up the can while in Sackville , New Brunswick. No date stamping on the label.
the beer pours a bright clear copper color with dense creamy khaki color to off white head of 1 cm foaming up. This head fades to a sturdy edge layer and some wispy islands on the surface. very scattered lattice when I swirl the glass or take a sip.
Aroma is sort of mild, I get a bit of a grainy note and some sugaryness with floral hops and honey as well. A little bit of fusol booze comes through on the aroma too.
First sip reveals a bit of a toffee note and some bready notes with white grapes and a bit of honey comes through again. Finish is hints of bitterness and black pepper which I attribute to the ABV and not any sort of hop presence.
The beer is pretty easy to drink, but I do wish the aroma was a little more complex and robust. Its a fine beer and honestly one of the bigger ABVs that I found while in New Brunswick.
