Excellent head production and good retention. Dark body with tan foam.
Modest and lightly roasty aroma, with notes of nuts, prune, toast, toffee, red grape, light char, and a touch of banana.
Tasting notes follow the nose, with nuts, banana, chocolate, coffee, caramel, light char, and a hint of leather.
Fairly thick on the palate, especially given the ABV. That's really this beer's best feature by far, allowing for much greater flavor impact than you normally get from a 5.5% ABV stout.
Overall, a very flavorful and effective stout at a modest ABV.

Draft at the brewery
Decent creamy off white almost tan head with medium retention, light lacing, very dark basically black with a little brown light sneaking through
Nose dark malts, a little roasty coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, little creamy milk chocolate, but dry bitter roast
Taste brings mostly roast out front, a little char and dark chocolate cocoa, light lactose like milk chocolate, coffee, fair bitterness mostly from the roasted malt, little hop spicy character, drier but sticky finish
Mouth is med bod, little creamy, medium carb
Overall not bad, solid basic stout
