Pours a decent fizzy foamy darker mocha colored 1 finger head that fades at a fair pace, nice lacing, fair legs, very dark black beer
Nose starts with loads of barrel, fresh toasted oak, dank wood barrel house, roasted malts, roast, a little smokey, licorice, very dark charred malt and a little acrid roast, bit of dark chocolate, plenty of maple as well.
Taste brings loads of roast and spicy chewy hops, bitterness, under-attenuation that continued to ferment with spicy fruity yeasty flavor, tingly alcohol, a little chocolate, fudge, burnt roast and coffee, a bit of barrel more charred oak barrel, a little maple, alcohol, a bit of a mess.
Mouth is med bod, thin somehow, light carb, some alcohol.
Overall a mess, not very good beer, decent maple but otherwise not very good base beer.
