Collaboration with The Piggy Brewing Company.

Last time we invited our friends from Piggy to brew an IPA with us, our steam generator blew. Twice. And boy do we need steam! But luckily they returned, and to make up for the lost opportunity we went one-up and made a deluxe version of that IPA. This utter beast features the fragrant force of Nelson Sauvin, Galaxy and Citra in the dry-hop, and a smooth oaty body.

Copenhagen 23/5 2020. 44 cl can from Beerlivery web-shop. Very spaced out can with what looks like a close-up of some bacteria culture in very weird colors.

Pours hazy, milky, pale yellow with a big, fluffy, white head. Stable. Settles as thin, almost transparent layer of foam. Struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is intense with a sweet fruitiness with a herbal touch and dry citric notes. Mango and peach. Weeds and nettle. Citrus and grape fruit.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a somewhat stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while. Finish is dry.

Quite potent NEIPA. Soft as silk but with a solid bitter burn.

Pours a hazy, orange coloration with a large, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and fruity hops, with soft white grape, lime peel and passion fruit notes. Taste is a great balance of light biscuity malt and fruity hops, with notes of zesty grapefruit and lime peel, sweet passion fruit and slightly acidic white grape, as well as a strong dankness. Finishes rather dry with a light/medium bitterness and some white grape, lime peel and passion fruit lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

Quite a nice NEIPA with a rather dank and dry character as well as zesty and acidic hops, with only a very light sweetness and decent bitterness for the style coming through here. My kind of NEIPA, very enjoyable indeed. I think that Dry & Bitter do this style very well, while truly living up to their name.
