Collaboration with Good Guys Brew.
New Zealand Double Dry-Hopped IPA
Finding balance is a continual struggle.
Our friends from Good Guys Brew came down from Karlstad, Sweden and spent a few days with us. Together we came up with Balancing Pact.
This double dry-hopped IPA is a brewed exclusively with New Zealand hops. Waimea, Waiiti and Rakau in the boil, Motueka and Nelson Sauvin in the dry-hop.

Pours a hazy, deep orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and juicy, citrus/tropical hops, with notes of lime peel, lemongrass, papaya and white grape. Taste is a great balance of light biscuity malt and citrus/tropical hops, with the citrus hops dominating with strong and somewhat zesty notes of lemongrass and lime, as well as lighter accents of papaya, peach and white grape as well, with just a hint of grassy dankness. Finishes with a light bitterness and some citrus and white grape lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Quite a nice NEIPA that is rather juicy and perhaps a little too sweet for my personal taste, but balances that out with a light bitterness and quite zesty citrus and very lightly acidic white grape notes. This really has that typical NZ hop profile to it, with the lime of Motueka and white grape of Nelson Sauvin standing out the most, being rounded out by lighter tropical, stone fruit and dank accents.
