Not retired - purchased from the bottle shop on a recent visit. Pours dullish hazy amber with a thinish fluffy head and limited lacing. Aroma: grapefruit, pine, tropical fruit. Flavour: Floral hop, tropical fruit, some caramel and a little green apple (?)

Pours hazy dialysis pee/raspberry tea (modern poetry!) color that looks like a weird brownish copper in the light, it sports three fingers of whitish head that slowly drops to one and sticks around pretty good, there is barely barely any lacing. The aroma is a slightly sweet malty barnyard with an accent of vinegar tartness, vague bready backbone. The taste is initially a dry, flat brettanomyces funk flavor with some crusty bread and light sweetness. There is a little hoppy tea flavor in the background but otherwise I feel like most of the bitterness comes from the wild yeast. It is fairly drinkable and has a mediumish body, lazy carbonation that looks as though it's rising through syrup. There is no aftertaste.
Interestingly to me the aroma is tart but the flavor isn't at all. Most wild beers I have had seem to be the opposite, with the nose being earthy and the tartness being all on your tongue. I am no expert on sours, though, so that might be my imagination. All in all this is a decent beer. My main gripe with it is that it isn't too much like a saison, nor an IPA, nor a sour. Additionally, it doesn't really push in one direction at all and it could be better if it did. Both the flavor and aroma seem a little hollow. It's not too bad, but a little fruity/sappy punch could really make it pop more than it does.
Who knows, it could be old, but since they don't use bottle dates I'll never know (hint, hint, Folly).

A saison hopped with Galaxy and Sorachi Ace. The Galaxy is prominent, with Sorachi a bit in back. Tropical fruit flavours, wheat that is subdued by the hops. Spicy flavours are down low as well, but there. Quite nice- carbonation a bit intense, but very tasty.
