Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub, and will only be available on tap.
2002 Reserve named after the old brewmaster
A- pours a deep amber with rust colored highlights when held to the light and with only a very thin swirl of head
S - The malt is fully assertive on the nose with some scents of sweet caramel, and the alcohol is strongly present in the nose as well
T- This is the winner for me here. Malt is fully assertive upfront with and very bitter, but at the back of the finish is a caramel and toffee sweetness that is balanced very well.
M - big and chewy with the alcohol warmth noticeable
D- I could feel this beer before I was done with it. I would only have one at a time and it wouldn't be that often most likely, but if I was in the mood for a barleywine I would like to have this.
