Had this one on tap at Chalkies.
A hazy yellow-gold with a thin white head. Leaves sheets of lace on the glass. Aroma is musty and fruity, with a clove spiciness. Flavor is sweet, but not at all cloying. Begins with tropical fruit and vanailla, cloves, and some musty notes. Has a very full body, and is very smooth. The alcohol is very well hidden, making this one dangerous beer.
I am especially surprised by this one since, although Oaken Barrel is a very competent brewery, I don't expect their brews to be outstanding. This, in my opinion, rivals any Belgian Tripel I've tried. A most impressive beer!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
