Schloßbrauerei Kaltenber "Kaltenberg Oberbräu 1605 Hefe Weisse"
on tap @ Fidelio, Roma, IT
€5 for 50 cl glass
Notes: Cloudy amber beneath a thick head of white. The head retention and lacing are quite good as expected for the style. The aroma expresses wheaty malt with an edge of light caramel, and mild semi-tart fruits (apple, berries). The flavor follows with a richer maltiness that displays some wheaty tartness, as well as a touch of banana, clove, and light "spice". Moderately bitter, and dry in the finish with a subtle wheaty tang. Medium-light in body with a bristling, effervescent carbonation.
