Pour clerce golden colour with foamy head keeping good retention and strong lacing. Light grainy, floral notes. Faint sweet cereal and malt taste. Quite light and crisp overall as expected for a Hell. Low bitterness and moderate carbonation.

I tried a 0.5L stein of this beer off the tapper an Irish Pub near Fredrichstrasse station in Berlin. It poured a clear golden with white head that eventually dissipated and did not leave much lace. The scent had grain and malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced an easy to drink with grain presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Kaltenberg International "Konig Ludwig Hell"
,5L / 3,19€ vom fass @ Bräuhaus Füssen, Füssen, DE on 18 September 2017
Notes: Slightly hazy golden body beneath a full head of frothy bright white that holds well before dropping to become creamy. Sweetish grainy malt with a hint of fruitiness and a suggestion of hops in the background. As the aroma suggests, it's lightly sweetish and grainy with just a hint of apple-like fruitiness and only a mild suggestion of hops in the background, but with a balancing median bitterness. Mainly dry finish with a dollop of maltiness passing fairly quickly. Medium leaning towards medium-light in body and gently crisp then smooth across the palate. Fairly basic overall, but drinkable in quantity if desired.

Had 0.5L on draft in a Berlin restaurant. It had a foamy head atop a clear golden body. The taste was slightly sweet with a tiny trace of hops at the end. Very easy to drink and forget.

Poured from bottle into a Konig Ludwig Pilsner glass at Hotel Falkenstein, Pfronten Germany. Beautiful clear golden color with a snowy white head. Subdued nose but very pleasant. The taste is wonderful and the mouthfeel is great as well. Very smooth and decidedly malty as a Helles should be. Hops aroma and taste are negligible...just enough to keep the malt from making it too sweet. This is a fine Helles, very much in the mold of the best Munich lagers. Too many lagers that purport to be Hells are over-hopped and short on malt and would more accurately be described as Pils but this one is right on.
