Pretty cool brewery slash bar in a fantastic location. Obviously pirate themed and very close to the cruise port so no reason not to stop in and check it out.

I spent a few hours sitting at the bar here on 02/28/18 while my family shopped in downtown Nassau. There were a handful of Pirate Republic beers on tap of which I was able to partake of full pours of each - the seasonal rotating IPA, Citra Me Timbers - because pirate themed, right? - was particularly decent. Clean, comfortable, uncrowded space with (incidentally) one of the few bathrooms downtown although you need a four-digit key code to get into it (I know the code and I'll sell it to you for $5). There were two tap pullers, one of whom was very nice and the other of whom was an out-and-out bitch, so there's a washout on the service rating right there. No attempt at all is made to provide proper glassware - everything is served in either a stein or pilsner, apparently at random. There appeared to be food available at tables in an alleyway outside the taproom but I didn't go out there so I can't speak to it. There was also a pirate wandering around being disproportionately thematic but I managed to avoid engaging with him.

Vibe - a pirate themed brewery with looks that made it feel like you were on a pirate ship - wood floors, ropes and netting, pirate pictures, wooden tables, etc. Also, there was really awesome guy dressed as a pirate walking around promoting the beer and talking with guests. Add this to the fact that it is located in the beautiful, Bahamas, and you've got yourself a pretty unique brewery.
Quality - The beer was pretty good/very good - I was able to try 5 different beers while visiting.
S - pretty fast service from people who were willing to talk about the beers, brewing process, and the brewery in general.
S - While visiting they had 10 beers on tap ranging from IPAs, porters, stouts, pilsners, kolsch, etc.

Coming off a cruise ship, it's wonderful to find good beer. even better to find locally brewed beer. This pub in Nassau was a blessing. Decent selections of their won ales, good food, friendly, knowledgeable bartender. I'll be there every time I visit!

We visited just after opening, probably 11:15 or so. There were 4 or so beers listed on the board, plus a basic bar (so my daughter could have a Shirley Temple). I had the draught-only Toasted Coconut Porter, while my wife had the Captain Kidd's Kolsch, served from can. Both were served at appropriate temperature, and were stylistically correct. The bartender was knowledgeable about his beers (and offered a sampler of one, their Christmas ale, which was nicely spicy).

The bar's decor is decidedly "rustic pirate," which is a little over the top, but hell, you're in a port bar in the Bahamas, what'd you expect? There's also a gift shop where tee shirts, stickers, pirate-themed swag, and six packs can be purchased (although, the six-pack price seemed a little high -- $17 for the kolsch).

I'd happily stop back in next time I'm in Nassau to see what's new in the draught rotation.

Cool place to stop by and visit in tourist trap Nassau.
The beer's I had were tasty and the bartender was cool!
Thankfully it's really close to the port so it's easy to get to and then back on the ship!
The only downside was the gift shop personnel were a little rude.

Stopped in here while walking around Nassau. It was very nice to find a place selling local craft beers! I tried Island Pirate Ale at the bar and purchased a bottle of it to take home. If I'm ever back in Nassau, I will certainly swing by again.
