A 330ml bottle, batch 17.28, with a best before date of December 2022. Poured into a snifter glass.
Appearance: A clear copper amber colour with a one finger beige head that had pretty good retention and left lots of nice lacing.
Aroma: Malty, smoky, bacon, fruity, cherry, grape, prunes, raisin with hints of caramel.
Taste: Sweet-ish, smoky, bacon, caramel, toffee, honey, sugar syrup, cherry and prunes.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
Overall: Surprisingly good since I’m not a fan of Barleywines. But this was very smooth and the sweetness was balanced really well by the smoke.

Bought at Beer and Belgain Food, served ina snifter glass. Pours a hazy dark brown colour, small head with short retention, tiny lace.
Aroma of dates, raisins, molasses, somey notes, bitter notes, caramel.
Medium to full body, oily texture, flat carbonation. Sweet and dry finish.
Taste of molasses, dates, raisins, caramel, sugar and citric notes.
Strange and good.

Malt profile reminds of a belgian quad with strong flavors of figs and dates. Most of the smoke shows up in the back and is reminiscent of Schlenkerla beers to me.

I tried this at Gollem in Antwerp on 21SEP17. It cost €6.70 for a 0.33l bottle. Liked it enough to have 2, even if a touch pricey!
The bier had a lovely color - a deep, rich chestnut/mahogany with a touch of haze. I couldn't see the carbo, but the head was beige, creamy and smooth. It started at about 1/2" and ebbed slowly, with very nice lace. Aroma was heavy on smoked malts and a hint of dark fruit. Body was medium-plus, and it was very smooth!
Taste was rich and sweet, combining molasses, caramel, raisins, currants and dates. It was syrupy and on the verge of being cloying, but didn't go over the edge. Smoked malts were pleasantly right there... a smoky, English barleywine - heavy on the malts and light on the hops. Quite tasty!! Prosit!
