Pitch black and viscous, with zero carbonation? An aggressive center-pour kicked up no head... Lots of coffee and chocolate flavors - very syrupy and dense - leans a little too sweet and heavy for my tastes, but your mileage may vary... Features Cascade and Bramling cross hops, Pale Smoke and Pale Crystal malts, coffee and sugar... Bottle cap indicates a best by date of 05/2021...

Poured from a 11.2 oz bottle into a snifter.
L - Almost no hiss when the bottle cap is opened, which leads, not surprisingly, to zero head sitting on this nearly ink-black beer. When held up to the light it is clear and a deep mahogany just at the edges of the glass.
S - Aromas of rich, strong coffee with a hickory smoke/charcoal edge to it. No hops or yeast character, which is ok for the style.
T - Serious coffee flavors also featuring a smokey note like the aroma did. The coffee fades in the finish, leaving the campfire charcoal smoke. Not a lot of subtlety, but it has a richness to it.
F - Suitably thick body. Low, creamy carbonation gives it a silky feel. Strong bitterness seems to come from both hops and roasted grain astringency. Some alcohol presence, but not as much as 11% ABV would lead you to expect.
O - If you like stouts and bitter coffee, this is a good beer for you. It is a bit one-dimensional, but it is tasty. It is sub-par on carbonation and head, but otherwise very good.

This one pours an oily and inky-looking black, with a tiny head, and no lacing.
This smells a tad soy-saucey, with some good roasty and nutty coffee, smoke, and roast.
The base beer doesn't feel super strong here, as it's kinda astringent, and too smoky and soy saucey. The coffee they used is good though, and it does an ok job at covering up the weak base stout. I'm not sure if this aged badly, or it just wasn't all that great to begin with.
This has a low level of carbonation, and it's not super drinkable, with a lingering bitterness. It's kind of syrupy.
This feels a bit sloppily done. If the coffee wasn't here, it would be even worse.

A: The beer is jet black in color and poured with no traces of bubbles whatsoever on the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of dark malts and espresso beans are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has strong flavors of espresso along with notes of dark malts and faint hints of roast. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness, which seems to be mostly coming from the coffee beans.
M: It feels full-bodied and rather smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer lives up to its name and definitely is like taking a double shot of espresso, although what impressed me the most was how remarkably well any traces of alcohol were hidden from the taste.

Tasted at echarle huevos. Pours a black colour, with no head and no lace.
Aroma of licorice, coffee, dried fruits, chocolate and a smokeoy touch that dissipates as it warms.
Mete of coffee, chocolate, dried fruits.
Really good.

A beer that has left me two sensations. The first one, which is a great beer. The second one, which could be better. It lacks a bit to be an exellent beer. Particularly I did not like having coffee, since I was taken before bedtime and sometimes coffee does not feel good to me.

De el in a goblet from The bottle.
Appearance: thin black body with medium bubbles and a tan head head rising roughly quarter of an inch off the body. Settles to nada after one sip.
Smell: Small whiskey scent which dissipates quick after one sniff.
Taste: Smooth whiskey, molasses stay with you and a hint of honey. Complex brew which is all over the place.
Mouth: Sticky brew with medium carbonation and full bodied.
Overall: Good brew and worth the pick up. An Imperial Stout stays with you to the end. Enjoy with love. Salud.

Kees makes the choice of strong coffee over complexity of taste or drinkability. It's certainly not bad but quite syrupy and one-way. Strong imperial stout
