12oz bottle poured into my HotD tulip.
A: Jet black with minimal carbonation and no head.
S: Strong alcohol and caramel sweetness; mild impressions of chocolatey fudge, salted caramel, vanilla. Kinda punches you in the face with the caramel-fudgy-booze, which isn’t a bad thing.
T: Spirit barrel is apparent but the palate is much more integrated with flavor and not just booze; warming alcohol and oak give mild impression of warm caramel apple dessert; chocolate and vanilla bring a fudgy sweetness. As the beer comes to room temperature, burnt sugars, smokiness, and coffee flavors emerge. This is complex.
MF: Thick and almost chewy, fairly viscous, warm.
O: Overall a delicious caramelly, fudgy barrel-aged stout with a decent amount of booze.

27 January 2020 - Beer #12
Appearance: 4 - Black black, but no head whatsoever. I'm nervous.
Nose: 5 - nope, nothing to be nervous about at all. Definitely more caramel than fudge. In fact, I'm surprised there's no glob of caramel in the glass. Subtle barrel.
Taste: 3 - yep, I was right to be nervous. I don't know if it's too old, but I don't taste much of anything. Mild caramel, mild roast, mild barrel. Just very mild.
Mouth: 2 - not much going on. Quite thin with little to no body. Nearly flat.
Overall: 3 - this experience was just sad overall. Looking forward to tomorrow's awesome beer.
Cheers!

Released at Systembolaget, Sweden, November 17, 2017.
It pours dark brown to black with almost no head, just a thin brown-beige head.
Nose: That nose! I could stay here forever! Caramel, fudge, Bourbon, vanilla, molasses, brown sugar, syrup, whipped cream, cookies, chocolate, cocoa beans, butterscotch and coffee.
Taste: A backbone of warming alcohol, sweet but not too sweet. Chocolate, caramel malt, fudge, vanilla, Bourbon, butterscotch - very much like the nose.
Mouth: Full body. Oily. Smooth and creamy. Sweet an slight bitter. Strong but still smooth.
This is a masterpiece!

Pours a very dark reddish brown with decently large head that is very thick and creamy, leaving good lace. Nose is cho-co-lat-eee...damn...but also brings in some marshmallow (vanilla mostly) and some barrel booze notes. Taste sides more with the caramel, but still brings chocolate and some barrel notes. Sweet, and more of what I'd call a dessert beer, but not cloying over overly sweet. Maybe a bit boozy, but I'm not sure what else you'd expect at 12%. Really just a lot of flavors in here and they all come together nicely. Great beer.

This one pours a pitch black body with a nice mocha head.
The bourbon brings balance to this beer but it also brings some acidity.
Very fudgy and some cocoa notes are prohiminent. A bit thin in mouthfeel it could gain from a heavier body.
Still enjoyable

Dark brown color with tan head. Aroma has really nice bourbon, toffee, chocolate and caramel. Taste follows with lots of bourbon, fudge, caramel, butterscotch, not too sweet though, slightly bitter on the finish with dark chocolate and cacao flavor. Medium plus bodied with soft carbonation, quite smooth. Overall it's a big improvement from the regular, the bourbon enhances the flavors really well.
