Got this from the Duvel guy. Cheers!
From a 33cl can into a snifter
IBU: 45
Pastry stout aged in Wild Turkey Barrels
APPEARANCE: Pours out clear black and yields a 1+ finger, medium looking, fizzy tan head with lousier retention. Head is really fizzy. Almost obnoxious. Black body with no real carbonation evident. Head fizzes away to a half wisp and ring. A light, swirly wisp and ring remain leaving touches of lacing down the glass. The head is initially off-putting, but once it calms down, it’s pretty good looking.
SMELL: Definite caramel fudge, with creamy toffee, chocolate brownies, vanilla cream, oak aromas and some bourbon notes on the nose. Bold for sure.
TASTE: Caramel fudge and toffee sweetness up front, light bourbon flavors, some chocolate brownies and alcohol at the swallow. Bold and flavorful finish of caramel fudge, brownies, vanilla cream, toffee, a touch of oak and some light bourbon flavors linger nicely on the palate. A bit of alcohol as well. Flavorful and enjoyable.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. A little fizzy on the palate, a touch light perhaps, goes down fine with a bit of a scratch and finishes rather sticky on the palate, A touch of heat lingers.
OVERALL: This is pretty decadent stuff. I can remember the regular Caramel Fudge Stout being pretty solid stuff as well, and the barrel aging has given it a decent dose of decadence on top. Lots of candy, desert-like flavor with the corresponding nose to go with it. I’d like the head to be a little more impressive on this one, but that’s a minor complaint. Good stuff all around and would gladly drink more. Check it out if you see it. The price isn’t spirit crushing either. Cheers!

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a small, creamy, mocha-colored head. Smells of slightly roasted, quite caramelly malt, with a huge toffee presence and hints of chocolate. Taste is a good balance of very slightly roasted, quite caramelly malt, with a huge, overpowering toffee presence, some chocolate and hints of vanilla and licorice. Finishes with a medium sweetness and some toffee and chocolate lingering in the aftertaste. Full body with a medium body and carbonation.
This certainly lives up to its name, with a huge toffee presence that is quite overpowering, as well as a slighly boozy Bourbon note that doesn't stand out particularly here, except for hints of vanilla. In fact, this doesn't seem so different from the last version I had of this, simply because the toffee presence, most likely achieved from natural/artificial flavoring, is so omnipresent here. At least this doesn't become too cloyingly sweet though, thanks to some light roasted, bitter and spicy notes, although that toffee and vanilla sweetness is still a bit too much for me personally.
