Got this from Duvel guy in Utrecht
From a 33cl can into a snifter
Imperial Rye Stout
Aged 12 mos in Buffalo Trace Barrels
APPEARANCE: Pours out clear black and yields a 1+ finger, medium looking, fizzy, light brown head with decent retention. Head quickly recedes to a half wisp and ring. Black body with touches of carbonation evident. A splotchy wisp and ring remain leaving touches of lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Plenty of oak and bourbon on the nose. Woody with toffee, caramel, vanilla cream notes, milk chocolate and notes of butterscotch as well.
TASTE: Bourbon, oak, vanilla cream and some toffee up front, then a solid hit of alcohol at the swallow. Bold finish of toffee, butterscotch, caramel, vanilla notes, some milk chocolate, a light hint of coffee bitterness, as well as a solid base of bourbon lingers long after the swallow. Flavorful and enjoyable.
PALATE: Medium body and slightly higher carbonation. Light and a bit prickly on the palate, not creamy enough, goes down fine and finishes somewhat mouth-coating. Some decent heat lingers.
OVERALL: Decent stuff. The head is a little lack luster and the feel is too prickly, unfortunately, but the nose and flavor definitely work. Good dose of barrel character along with a solid, slightly bitter, roasted base stout to support the show. A less carbonated feel would help make this as good as it could be. Check it out if you get the chance. Cheers!

Brouwerij Kees 'Barrel Project Buffalo Trace' 2022 @ 12.1% , served from a 330 ml can
A-pour is a dark cola brown from the can to a black in the glass with a small size tan head , dissipating into a fine spotty lace ring along the tulip
S-rye , barrel aging (12 months)
T-rye stands out , initial taste thru to the swallow , barrel aging adds some smoothness
MF-ok carbonation , definite big full body , feeling the ABV
Ov-strong Imperial stout , rye does dominate
