Pours a cloudy, deep amber coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and citrus/tropical hops, with notes of orange zest and papaya, as well as some vanilla and oak/cedar wood and just a hint of mint. Taste is a great balance of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and fruity, herbal, slightly resinous hops, with notes of orange zest, papaya and just a hint of coconut, as well as strong vanilla and woody notes of oak and cedar wood, with hints of pine, mint and dill. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some orange zest, papaya, vanilla, cedar wood and dill lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfel with a medium body and carbonation.
Although I realize that I'm kinda in the minority here, I wish that I could get my hands on BBA IPAs more often, as I quite enjoy them personally and they really are super rare. While I'm not usually a huge fan of Sabro hops, they are an obvious choice for a beer like this and work well here, with the barrel showing through nicely as well, creating quite an interesting, somewhat complex and well-balanced flavor profile, with this not feeling too sweet or boozy at all. There really is a great mix of fruity, woody and herbal notes going on here, as well as sweet, bitter and slightly resinous accents.
