'BA Imperial Stout // 11.2% Abv // 375ml
"Sometimes we are completely surprised by what great beer comes out of one specific barrel. We filled a fresh Laphroaig barrel with our Imperial Russian Stout and the result was so good that we decided to bottle only the content of this barrel. Laphroaig is a whisky from the Scottish island of Islay. The malt used for Islay whiskies is traditionally dried over a fire stoked with peat, the only fuel on the island. This gives the whisky its typical smoky medicinal aroma and flavour. This taste and smell, together with hints of chocolate and coffee from the Imperial Stout, are also amply found in this beautiful Barrel Project. To emphasize its exclusive character, we have bottled this beer in 37.5 CL bottles. We have a very limited stock. In order to distribute the beer as fairly as possible, we sell this beer 1 bottle per customer, so be quick."

More of less blind-tasted, in that I know the brewery/name/ABV%
L- Ultra black, no light gets through it held to a halogen bulb. Low CO2 in the glass, tho at c11% it's no a huge surprise x-ref surface tension etc. That said what is there holds very well, right down.
S- Deeply roasted, a touch smokey, plus yes, a whisky note!
T- Charred, timber barrel, then a whisky note and boom an ABV%-zing on swallowing. A smokey charry note follows into the finish, perhaps my stomach has caught fire ;; The whisky note isn't over-bearing, I like that.
F- Often a beer of this type pours like queitly like a syrup as it's so laden with carbs and often sweet to OTT so. This has some sweetness but likely needs it to counter the bold flavour.
O- I started this fridge cold, glad I did as it's a slow-sippin' beer. As it begins to warm a touch the whisky aspect seems to perhaps grow. Interesting, something a bit different but $$ too, so likely a one-off purchase for me.
--- This was one I'd put aside as 'Something a bit special' for my 2400th review. Review+ratings now done I'll check the bottle for other info /clues of note: Contains 5 kinds of malts, barley malt + sugar (it's filtered though hmm). BB: 12/28. 375ml bottle from Trembling Madness York £9.45.
