Very Good
Javelina IPAJavelina IPA
Notes: For the hophead in all of us, this light colored beer has just enough malt backbone to carry the copious amounts of hops, providing bitterness and big hoppy aroma.

Many thanks to SawDog505 for this can!

A - Bright gold and very clear pour with a soapy white, anemic lacing ring.

S - Pineapple aroma with some vinous character, light grapefruit, and small traces of tropical fruit. Light tropical spice

M - Medium body, light carbonation.

O - An easy drinking IPA.

Poured on draft at The Union Diner into a pint glass. Pours a very attractive bright orange with a two inch sticky white head that leaves rings of lace behind.

Smell is apricot, biscuit, earthy floral hops, pine, and grapefruit.

Taste follows floral and tropical upfront, with a little biscuit, and finishes with piney grapefruit.

Mouthfeel is about medium, plenty of carbonation, not dry at all, and drinks very easy.

Overall this is a very good IPA, that now that it is coming in 6 packs I will seek it out.

Nice balance between an English and American style IPA. Fairly juicy hop taste, with a nice biscuity malt base. More tropical than piney. Beautiful orange amber with amazing head retention.

In a 22 ounce bomber, when opened, the foam slowly oozes out of the neck. Thick, frothy head that settles in lumps. Leaves a ring of lace as it settles. Spots of lace thereafter. The liquid is very cloudy with a dark, dirty gold color (solidly amber).

Semi-sweet caramel aroma--very British IPA nose. Very low hop profile for the style, but still attractive.

Clean and relatively dry start (considering the smell). The hop is much stronger here, but not enough to leave an extra long aftertaste. The finish is similar to black pepper with a bit of straight up bitterness. I also note a bit of smoke in the swallow. The body is as expected for the style; the carbonation a bit elevated.

A - slightly hazy amber body with dense white foamy head. Incredible retention and tons of foamy lacing.

S - citrus hop with some bready malt

T - bitter pine and floral hops upfront, slightly citrusy. Big earthy malt with some medicine flavor rolling into the aftertaste.

M - medium body with moderate carbonation.

O - this was good but not sure I love the malt profile.

I have heard a lot about this brewery, it seems like Derry, NH is the place to be for nano-breweries. Bought from Craft Beer Cellar in Nashua and poured into one of my brand spanking new session glasses.

L- Light auburn, nice foamy head, good carbonation.

S- Definitely hoppy with some watermelon rind, lemon/citrus, muted malt characteristics as well.

T- Getting a nice bready malt note with a refreshingly pungent citrus hop assault. Light stonefruit notes, medium/light body, rather refreshing up front taste. There is a rather unpleasant aftertaste though, like swallowing a pill without water.

F- Medium/light body, I'd drink this by the pintful at a spring barbecue for sure.

O- An auspicious debut beer from yet another Derry-area nano-brewery. Slightly more complex than your run-of-the-mill IPA, its fruity notes balance out the bitter aftertaste and make for a refreshing yet different brew.

From the 650 ml. bottle released in early March 2015. Sampled about two weeks later on March 15, 2015.

Cloudy amber-orange pour with long lasting cream colored head.

Aroma of floral, pine, and citrus hops. Definitely a hop presence with a more subdued toasted malt background.

Medium, astringent body.

The malts present themselves more so in the taste but are quickly overtaken by the same floral, earthy, and pine hop finish. Bitterness lingers dryly at the end. An easy to drink IPA.

Bottle from Bert's
Lightly hazy medium golden color with a frothy off white head that persists for a while. Citrus pine and bitter pith backed up by some faint bready caramel maltiness. The flavor is grapefruity citrus up front that segues into a hint of bready malt and comes back with some pith and aspirin harshness that lingers at the end of every sip. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Not a bad IPA.
