L-The beer pours a deep plum color with a small one and one quarter inch off white head. The head recedes to a thin central island without leaving much in the way of lace.
S- The nose is all dark stone fruit with a undertone of mustiness from the yeast. Overall it's of moderate intensity.
T- The palate is dominated by the malt. There is some candi sugar sweetness, yeastiness, and dark fruit all intermingling over the top.
F- Mouthfeel overall is medium with a light prickliness from the carbonation. A little thin for my tastes.
O- A solid domestic example of a Belgian dubbel. Worth a purchase if the mood strikes you and you don't want to shell out for the imports.

650ml bottle: This one pours a clear, dark reddish-copper color. There was a bit of a khaki head that dropped off quickly. Good nose. Pretty typical for a dubbel: fruits, caramel, spices, a bit of earthiness. The taste is good. A mix of bitterness and some sweetness. Some spices, dark fruits, earthy, Belgian candi sugar. A decent brew!

Pours with a five+ finger, khaki head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Muddy, opaque brown color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is light chocolate, flavor is malt, some dark fruit. 22oz bottle - gift, bought at Lazy Dog Beer Shoppe Londonderry, NH. Bottled Jul 2015.

Ruddy reddish brown with active but thin tan head that fades to nearly none. Aroma is sweet enough to make me fear diabetes! I like the sweet stuff, so the heavy malt presence and honey won't scare me away - fantastic. Flavor is decent, with some dark fruits joining the malt and Belgian candi flavors. The mouthfeel is a bit thin, and the finish could be cleaner, but this is really decent go at a Dubbel from right here in NH!

From the 650 ml. bottle dated 07/10/15. Sampled on August 1, 2015.
The color is reddish brown with a tan head that fades some.
The aroma has a good nose of Belgian malts, sweetness, Belgian yeasty, toasty, and a dark fruit note.
The body is medium to better than medium.
Interestingly, the taste favors the black currants and other dark fruits and then there is this sort of tart after bite. Quite drinkable.

Bottle from The Drinkery Derry
Solid dark amber/ brown color with a decent sized bubbly tan head that shows moderate retention. Big caramel brown sugary chocolate on the nose with hints of earthy spicy phenols. The flavor follows the aroma quite well! Sugary caramel with hints of chocolate maltiness. Light earth and spice flavors to counter. Medium full body, silky almost creamy mouthfeel with a moderate level of carbonation. That is a pretty tasty Dubbel right there.
