Having a 10oz pour right now at Cask & Vine. This is the 2nd iteration of Rockingham's Collaboration Barleywine, aged in red wine barrels. The 10oz shifter was priced at $10.50.
Has a tawny, opaque russet brown color, with minimal lacing and head. Aroma is of malty toffee with subtle red wine. Medium bodied, it is also fairly smooth.
Flavor has more toffee and caramel, like an English Barleywine.... has a definite vinous aspect to it... I can get some oaky notes in the finish at first, but as it warms it gets a touch fruitier. Solid, though I liked the 1st version (mead barrel aged) a bit better... Prosit!
