From the 16 oz. can dated 02/20/19. Sampled on August 3, 2019.

The appearance is handsome haha! Dark brown to nearly black with a lacing-leaving tan head.

The aroma emits characters of dark roasted malts and then a vibrant floral hop presence. There is also a kind of char character but not any ham that I can make out. Still inviting.

The mouthfeel is light to medium.

The taste has more of a floral bitter hop flavor than the roasted malts but it is meant to be an IPA...black as it is. But perhaps a vague cherry note? Finishes fairly dry.

Can from a Lazy Dog.
Pours a slightly hazy dark brown with a bubbly tan head that persists. Bready toasty light caramel and chocolate maltiness against a bit of earthy pine and citrus. Not bad if a little sweet.

Nice beige head on this opaque beer. Some decent lacing as well. Nose pops pine laced with earthiness, barely a bit of coffee and finishes with a little sweetness. Before the taste, I’m taken back by how shockingly thin this is. Almost thin enough to influence the taste, but not quite. Taste is pretty brilliant as it starts with a little dankness followed by pine and grassy upon exit. Aftertaste is very bitter, pleasantly so. Overall it’s a terrific tasting beer.
