This batch of our American Barleywine is a special blend of our 2017 & 2018 Vintages and then aged for 4 months in a Parlay Rum barrel from Doire Distilling here in Derry.
Even though we may need to toast from a distance for a little while, ComraDerry will always be about togetherness, revelry & sharing good times. And when those times get tough, our Derry family tree gets tougher. By sticking together and digging our firmly planted roots even deeper in our community we know can weather any storm. So let's raise a glass to a stronger & brighter future for our hometown & all the people within it!

I picked up two bottles of this on 15APR20. The 750ml servings set me back $16 each. Digging in right now after some clean-up duty around the house...
Color is a rich yet muted, opaque amber, with some mahogany as well. Head is thin, mainly being a very fine layer of beige foam, with most gathering at the edges. Lacing is on the light side, too. Aroma has some solid English-style malt along with a healthy heap of piney hops. Body is a solid medium to medium-plus, with minimal prickle attacking the tongue.
Flavor also starts more like an English BW than an American version... Has some toffee and caramel leading off, layering some subtle sweetness on the palate. Also has a nice amount of rindy, pithy, piney action. And, lurking in the shadows, is that rum-barrel action. That rum lingers on the palate lovingly, melding with the resiny hops and the last hints of malty sweetness for a superb finish. This version is top-shelf!! Prosit!
