This is our Assistant Brewer Taylor’s first original recipe that he wrote and brewed completely solo. He wanted an easy drinking, full bodied English bitter with one of his favourite hops - Citra.

On tap at the brewery/restaurant N. Vancouver in June 2019.
Overall: a very good version of the style that goes well with their outstanding wood-fired pizzas.

8oz glass at Beer Revolution YEG Oliver Square, where they apparently can't even get a three-letter initialism correct - TBS?
This beer appears a clear, medium bronzed amber colour, with one finger of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy ecru head, which leaves a decent amount of pockmarked limestone wall lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.
It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, a touch of biscuity toffee, muddled dark orchard fruity notes, and some plain earthy, leafy, and floral noble hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy caramel malt, white saltine crackers, some mild domestic citrus and pome fruitiness, and more understated leafy, herbal, and floral verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly active in its palate-caressing frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and generally smooth, with nothing really causing a fuss at this particular juncture. It finishes trending dry, the malt bottoming out, while the hops discover some lingering chutzpah.
Overall - this is a pleasant enough rendition of the style, one that doesn't really have much in the way of representation around these parts. Balanced, and easy to put back - if I had more time, I would seriously consider having another one.
