16oz pint at the Edmonton location (a very pale low-carb ale, made with German malts, yet).
This beer appears a clear, very pale (natch) golden yellow hue, with one finger of loosely foamy, and wanly bubbly dirty white head, which leaves some sparse hoar frost lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.
It smells of stale pale grain, corn grits, dive bar floor at the end of the night (or the beginning, for that matter), a bit of overripe apple and pear, and earthy, musty hops. The taste is pithy corn and grainy malt, not as thinned out as one might expect, weakening orchard tree detritus, hard water, and soft weedy, leafy hops.
The carbonation is rather peppy, with a tight fizziness, the body on the light side, weight-wise, but not watery, yet smooth like water. It finishes off-dry, the lingering bland mixed malt not worthy of introspection.
Not all that bad for a light beer, fine, but not too good overall, either. Off-flavours are kept to a minimum, sure, but plain will be as plain is (are the 'German' malts just a wee bit ashamed here?).
