Another CANned beer from CANada as The CANQuest (TM) chugs along, approaching the half-kilo point. Thanks, BigBry!
From the CAN: ""Traditionally brewed by Big Rock Brewery in Calgary, Canada. Packaged for Sobey's Western Cellars." Now, if I did not mind Big Flats being made for Walgreen's, why would I dun this one?
The Crack & Glug came off without a hitch and I was faced with a finger of fizzing, bone-white head that just fizzled its way out of existence. Color was a slightly hazy lemon-yellow. Nose had a grainy quality to it that I could not quite identify. It was undoubtedly adjunct-driven, but by what, I could not say. Mouthfeel was slightly thin, just better than watery, with a definite cereal taste on the tongue. It was more of the same-old, same-old. I feel like I am a part of a Moebius Strip, locked into an endless loop for eternity. This is the hell of The CANQuest (TM) - too many AALs for one person. As one of irvine Welsh's characters was fond of musing, "Variety is the spice of life." This had no spice, instead it was like rote blandness. Finish had a mild sweetness, somewhat lager-like, but still very reminiscent of cereal. Take the wheel and head straight down the middle of the road. Ho hum.

355 ml can. Barley stalks in the background, with bold GWD on the front label. Tan color neck with GWD around the whole label. "Traditionally brewed by Big Rock Brewery in Calgary, Canada. Packaged for Sobey's Western Cellars."
A grocery store brand made for, and sold exclusively at Sobeys Liquor Stores. Average pale lager color, yellow/gold with short white head. Foam disappears quickly, no lace. Clean aroma of some grains. Decent flavor, with malt and a slightly bitter finish. An average beer, not as much adjunct flavor or smell as I was expecting. It is a cheap beer, but actually not too bad. Can't go wrong for the price.
