Draft, at Hudson's Canadian Taphouse. Another house beer, made by Big Rock.
This beer is clear, amber color. Thin soapy foam, thin lace lines, fades slowly.
It smells of some caramel malt, mild earthy hops.
The taste is about the same as the aromas, sweet grain, caramel malt, and leafy, earthy hops. Some mild fruitiness as well.
The carbonation is average, the body and mouth feel are medium, smooth with no aftertaste.
Nothing special, but nothing wrong either.

Amber brown apperance with minimal head that disappears quickly. Sweet caramel smell with a hint of nuts.

Taste is similar to the smell, mostly caramel and nuts. Picked up grassy hops and nuts as well, taste overall is pretty light. Light-medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Aftertaste is dry with a lingering caramel taste.

Similar to lumberjack, it's okay and refreshing but kind of dull and watery. I guess it's worth a try if your in Hudsons.

Few pints went down at Calgary Hudson's
A - pint showed up with a short head and not much lacing, clear copper amber
S - biscuity and nutty, generally mild
T - malty flavour like the nose, some very light earthy grassy hops, but generally very mild
M - medium weight with a smooth texture, just a little dry on the finish
D - high focus on pour down the gullet ability and less on flavour and balance, not surprising for a house beer, generally average but I definitely enjoyed several without complaint

Took down a couple pints of this when enjoying some cheap wings at Hudson's.

A - Pours a golden colour with an amber hue, thin layer of head with little retention but does leave some sporadic lacing.

S - Scent is nutty with caramel notes and some grassy hops, though overall is rather mild.

T - Again, much like the scent the flavours were dominated by the nutty caramel notes and finished with some grassy hops.

M - Nice medium body, goes down smooth and finishes a tad dry.

D - Although this beer offered balanced malt and hop flavours it was pretty tame overall. A decent beer, but mildly disappointing like many of the Big Rock offerings I've had.

18oz pint, the second of Hudson's new house beers, made by the folks down Highway 2 at the Big Rock Brewery in Cowtown.

This beer appears a clear, bright medium bronzed amber hue, with one skinny-ass finger of loosely foamy, and mostly soapy white head, which leaves a thin wall of lace around the glass in its short wake.

It smells of watery, biscuity caramel malt, a mild earthy flintiness, faint orchard fruit notes, and timid earthy, floral hops. The taste is quite in line with the aroma - thin biscuity, semi-sweet grain, a stronger plain caramel sweetness, a bit of weak diacetyl astringency, ethereal black fruit, a hint of unresolved yeast, and generic leafy, earthy hops.

The carbonation is average, manifesting in just a plain-Jane frothiness for the most part, the body an adequate medium weight, and a bit prickly, but mostly smooth. It finishes stereotypically off-dry - biscuity caramel and floral, weedy hops.

Not a particularly complex amber ale, and very reminiscent of the Big Life variant that Big Rock also makes for the Moxies restaurant chain. Drinkable? Sure I guess, but really only as a slightly better alternative to Molson's 'craft' offerings at this expanding Canadiana-themed pub.
