From the growler via Savor Growl in a snifter. This rather nice little
RIS pours a nice deep blackish brown with subtle cola highlights and a
decent light brown head of foam that settles to a thick ring, thin subtle pooling layer,
and shows some nice light lacing. Nose of dark roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and
a hint of brewers licorice touched with char. Flavors hit the right notes with a nice dark
roasted malt backbone with dark coffee and dark chocolate touched with char, subtle
black brewers licorice, and a touch of blueberries and light char. Nice mouth feel; full body,
medium light carbonation, and a rich roasted finish with a light bitter malt aftertaste.
Overall, my new favorite brew from this company. Solid.
Cheers

My bro-in-law bought this beer from the beer store just around the corner. It poured an opaque black with frothy tan head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent has touch of roast. The taste has rich maple syrup mixed with roast, dark fruit and chocolate. The Mouthfeel is fuller in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's a big beer and worth a try.
