This is an amazing out of the expected bastion of hand crafted micro-brewed beers that are not just IPAs. They have lagers, sours, pale, blonde, ales, Whitbier and hazy beers among the wide selection. They offer a cider and non alcoholic selections.
They have a comfortable lounge area, The new owners have a new sound system, play vinyl, but is not so loud you cant hear yourself talk
It's the longest in operation Independent brewery in Seattle. It is wheelchair accessible and a safe and welcoming space with enthusiastic bartenders. Hard to find but worth the trip

I visited Outer Planet last week while walking around Capitol Hill. It's in a newer building, and inside has a combination of concrete-industrial feel and brewery in some dude's garage. I found it very welcoming; there was some brewing activity going on and the whole place had that telltale smell. The beers I tried were quite decent, with a lean towards farmhouse ales and even a sour among the 8 or so beers on tap. The guy working the counter was the brewer, and had all the relevant knowledge on the beers. I will definitely be returning to Outer Planet to see what else they come up with.
