Ruby brown to Brown pour (24+) with beige head; good clarity; long lasting thin cap; sport lace at best. Caramel malt and roast malt nose. Roast malt and roast coffee; semi sweet caramel malt; lite bitter roast finish. Lite mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Bitter roast with a minerally linger, which knocked this down a bit...

Pours deep brown, with a very wide white foam head, excellent retention, filtered. Aroma is of malts, caramel, toffee, mild chocolate and roasted coffee. Taste is well balanced, malty, sweet with a dry finish. Nice mexican beer.

cool to see the mexican craft beer scene really taking off. this is a random little brown ale, different from most, and uncommon in these parts for sure. it pours an explosive tan headed deep chocolate brown color, very little light passing through, and a tad of sediment. the head is well over an inch high, and it holds really nicely, relaxing to a nitro looking layer on top. it smells and tastes a little burnt, like they went just a little heavy on the roasted barley, it kind of takes over the lighter chocolate notes that appear on the front end, and the hop bitterness that is underneath here too. i like the more robust dark end for sure, but its a lot, especially in the aftertaste where a bitter ashy charred film stays on the tongue for awhile, its all i can taste half way through the beer. still, i like it being bold there, its memorable even if its a little out of proportion. there is a yeast flavor here too, which not many american style browns have, i like that aspect quite a bit, it softens the edges. super dry in the finish and carbonated fantastically well, enormously so for the style. overall a tasty brown, if you like the darker deeper side of the style, seek this one out. the mouthfeel is so expansive and hearty. cool brew.

Serving: 12 oz bottle (labeled "01-03-17") poured into a shaker pint.

Appearance: Deep, clear, dark reddish brown with an amazing, creamy lush off white head that never quite recedes. Dense streaks of lace ring the glass.

Smell: Sweet caramel, dark fruit and roasted grains.

Taste: Firm, malty body with roasted grains, hints of coffee, brown sugar and dark fruit. Earthy bitterness and a dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium body and moderate carbonation.

Overall: Big malt while remaining balanced, tasty and drinkable.

L- Dark blood red filtered body, amazing creamy ivory head.
S- Torrefacto. Sweet sugary glaezed coffee beans. The sweet aroma is stronger.
T- Again, torrefacto. Sweet sugar upfront, leaves a bold lingering roasted coffee aftertaste.
F- Rich, full and a little bit fizzy.
O- Great beer, would have been better if the roasted coffee taste was stronger to balance the sweetness.
