An easy pour from a 16-oz. can yields a fat finger of creamy and rocky fuchsia colored froth with average retention and spots and streaks of lace. Dark violet color, semi-opaque and deep.
The smell has some sour milk and baked wheat, berry and fruit, not distinguishable as blueberry.
The taste is tart-sour and mildly bitter, the blueberry taste is of canned blueberry pie filling minus the sweetness. Wheat malt is noticeable during the middle as it tries to be sweet. The finish is refreshing and quick with the sourness (lactic acid and a fruity sourness) kept in check by a light sweetness.
Light body with above average carbonation. Smooth despite the tart/sour taste.
This is my 3rd fruited Weisse beer from these guys, looking for and looking forward to trying their unfruited version. Highly recommended. Light on malt and no detectable hops per style.
