L: chestnut brown permeated by streams of rapidly rising bubbles under a 1" light tan cap with fair to good retention
S: rich dark bread, bread crust, toast and toasted bread crust aromas
T: Rich, mildly sweet malt leads the flavors. Spicy flavors hint of anise, bread crumb, bread crust, light toast, dark sugar and a hint of caramel provide depth
F: Very creamy and effervescent with a medium full body. The carbonation is high enough where it interferes a little bit with the full enjoyment of the malt flavors
O: The beer has rich, complex and layered malt flavors but it loses points for its high level of carbonation
